Aashayein Jail Event

The view with which jails and prisoners are seen in society, needs to be changed as not every person jailed is criminal by nature, sometimes it is the circumstance which force their involvement. To rehabilitate and find talent in Prisoners, Radio SD 90.8 FM takes an initiative in collaboration with District Jail, Muzaffarnagar to select and train the prisoners in Radio Jockeying, Singing, Dancing and Modelling. From 01 March, Radio Team is training the prisoners and a Studio has been set up in the District Jail, where trained prisoners are handling the programmes of Radio SD 90.8 FM. Also, a program named “Aashayein" is being broadcasted on Radio SD wherein Prisoners send their request to on air their songs and dedicate it to their family members. This is First time in the history of Jail System that Live Show and done Performances of Singing, Dancing and Modelling by Prisoners has been done in Jail Premises. This show has boosted the confidence of Prisoners and helped them in their rehabilitation when they come in civil society. Two National Awards and Golden Mike winner only Radio station, ie, Radio SD 90.8 FM is trying hard to be successful in this initiative so that the perception about the Jail and Prisoners may change in the eyes of civil society.
